  • Provides a reliable method of waterproofing round pipe penetrations.
  • Offers substantial labor savings compared to field fabricating from non-reinforced flashing.
  • Ensures a more consistent appearance than field-fabricated pipe flashings.
  • Double-ribbed cutting guide provides easier, smoother, and straighter cuts.
  • Rib design keeps the clamp in the proper position for the life of the roofing system.
  1. Cut the pipe seal between the two raised “ribs” to the desired diameter as illustrated on the flange of the pipe seal. Do not cut off both raised “ribs”.
  2. Pull the TPO Pipe Seal over the pipe until the base flange is in contact with the membrane. (Application of heat to the top portion of the TPO Pipe Seal may be necessary to allow installation over the pipe.)
  3. Mark the pipe around the top of the TPO Pipe Seal.
  4. Pull the TPO Pipe Seal upwards on the pipe until the mark on the pipe is visible.
  5. Install Water Cut-off Mastic below the mark which indicates the top of the installed TPO Pipe Seal.
  6. Pull the TPO Pipe Seal back down over the pipe and into position.
  7. Heat weld the TPO Pipe Seal base flange to the deck membrane (set the hand-welder temperature between 5 and 6).
  8. Install a stainless steel universal clamping ring to provide constant compression of the sealant.
Typical Properties and Characteristics

  1. Remove all lead and other flashing.
  2. Ensure the temperature of the pipe does not exceed 160°F (71°C).
  3. When used with mechanically fastened membrane:

    • Install a minimum of four fastening plates around pipe penetrations.
    • Position fastening plates so they are covered by the pipe seal flange.
    • Maintain a minimum 1½”-wide weld around the outer edge of the flange beyond the plates.
    • If fastening plates cannot be installed to allow a minimum 1½” weld, place the plates outside the TPO Pipe Seal flange and cover them with a reinforced TPO overlay.
  4. Store pre-molded pipe seals in a cool, shaded area and cover them with light-colored, breathable, waterproof tarpaulins.
TPO Pipe Seals or membrane exposed to weather prior to use must be cleaned with Weathered Membrane Cleaner before hot-air welding.
