McGuire FlexGuard PVC Fleeceback

McGuire FlexGuard PVC Fleeceback

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Fleeceback Waterproofing Membrane is manufactured using a controlled extrusion and calendering process. The membrane consists of a smooth PVC top layer factory-laminated to a non-woven polyester fleece backing, unless otherwise specified, to enhance adhesion, dimensional stability, and resistance to substrate irregularities. The exposed PVC surface is designed for heat-welded seaming, forming a homogeneous, watertight bond at membrane laps and details.

Raw materials

The membrane is factory-laminated to a non-woven polyester fleece backing designed to facilitate full adhesion or mechanical attachment using manufacturer-approved bonding adhesives or fastening systems. The fleece backing improves adhesion to approved substrates, enhances dimensional stability, and increases resistance to puncture and substrate irregularities, while maintaining the flexibility and heat-weldability of the exposed PVC surface.

Excellent Quality

The membrane exhibits excellent overall quality, combining consistent manufacturing, durable formulation, and proven performance characteristics that meet or exceed applicable industry standards. McGuire Flexguard PVC has excellent age resistance. It also maintains flexibility in-40c temperatures and does not become hard and brittle.

Convenient Construction

Roofing assembly is simplified with McGuire FlexGuard PVC Fleeceback. It’s easy to weld, highly efficient, and provides strong seam connections with high peel strength for watertight sealing.

Product Type

Fiber fleece – backed (+ 55 mils) (Category L)
Reinforced with polyester scrim (Category P)

Application Scope

The membrane is suitable for use in new construction and roof restoration applications over approved substrates, including steel, concrete, wood, gypsum, and existing compatible roofing systems, when installed in accordance with manufacturer requirements and project specifications.

Thickness (mil) Width / ft. Length / ft.
100 5, 6, 10 100
115 5, 6, 10 100
135 5, 6, 10 100
  • Enhanced chemical resistance
  • Can increase a building’s energy efficiency
  • Excellent heat weldability
  • Exceptional low-temperature flexibility
  • Highly resistant to punctures, UV, ozone and oxidation

Substrates must be clean, dry, smooth, and free of sharp edges, fins, loose or foreign materials, oil, grease and other materials that may damage the membrane.

All rough surfaces that can damage the membrane shall be repaired as specified to offer a smooth
substrate.

All surface voids greater than 1/4” (6.3mm) wide should be properly filled with an acceptable fill material. McGuire FlexGuard TPO waterproofing membrane is installed as a continuous roofing or waterproofing layer on the roof. Rolls are over lapped (side laps and end laps) prior to heat welding the seam areas. Install the McGuire FlexGuard TPO in accordance with current McGuire FlexGuard TPO specifications, details and workmanship requirement
